Two-factor authentication (2FA)

With 2FA, signing in needs a 6-digit code from an app on your phone as well as the password. A stolen password alone is then not enough. Any app that supports TOTP will do: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Aegis and others.

  1. Open the menu with your name → Account settings → Security.
  2. Under Two-factor authentication press Enable 2FA.
  3. Scan the QR code with the app, or enter the setup key by hand.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from the app to finish.

Then press View recovery codes and keep the codes somewhere safe, for example in a password manager. Each code lets you in once if you lose the phone. Regenerate codes makes a new set and cancels the old one.

The “New sign-in” email

We send the email “New sign-in to your Linkboard account” when someone signs in to your account from a device or a country that was not used in the last 90 days. The email gives the time, the country and the browser with the system. It is not sent for the very first sign-in.

  • It was you: nothing to do.
  • It was not you: press This was not me in the email and confirm. We end every session of your account at once, the old password stops working, and you go straight to the page where you set a new one. Then turn on 2FA.

Linkboard never asks for your password or 2FA codes.

Deleting the account

  1. Open the menu with your name → Account settings → Profile and press Delete account.
  2. If something is not settled yet, the page lists it: money on the balance, orders in progress, deposit invoices awaiting payment, withdrawals or refunds not finished. Settle them first, or ask us for help.
  3. Confirm with your password, press Email me a code, enter the code and press Delete my account.

After deletion you cannot sign in. Your orders, payments and messages stay in our records; only an administrator can restore the account.
